INTRODUCTION

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HeyU, a dating application operated by Simit Studios ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using HeyU, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.


HeyU is a location-based dating platform that requires real, camera-verified profile photos. Our aim is to facilitate genuine connections between adults in a safe and respectful environment.


ELIGIBILITY

To use HeyU, you must:

- Be at least 18 years of age

- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement

- Not be prohibited from using online dating services under applicable law

- Register only one account in your own name

- Provide truthful and accurate information


By using the app, you confirm that you meet all of the above requirements.


YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You agree to:

- Provide accurate, current, and complete information

- Upload only genuine, recent photos of yourself

- Complete photo verification when prompted

- Keep your login credentials confidential

- Notify us promptly of any unauthorised access to your account


Accounts found to contain false information, impersonation, or fake photos may be suspended or permanently removed without notice.


COMMUNITY STANDARDS

You agree to treat all users with courtesy and respect. In using HeyU, you are required to:

- Communicate honestly and respectfully at all times

- Respect other users' decisions and boundaries

- Use only your own genuine, recent photos

- Report suspicious, abusive, or fraudulent behaviour

- Act in compliance with all applicable local and national laws


PROHIBITED CONDUCT

The following conduct is strictly prohibited on HeyU:

- Creating fake profiles or impersonating any person

- Harassment, threats, or abusive messaging

- Sending unsolicited promotional content or spam

- Sharing another user's personal information without their consent

- Using the platform for commercial solicitation or advertising

- Uploading content that is unlawful, offensive, or sexually explicit

- Attempting to circumvent verification or safety features

- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the app

- Any behaviour intended to intimidate, stalk, or cause distress to another user


Violations may result in immediate account termination and, where warranted, referral to law enforcement.


PHOTOS AND CONTENT

HeyU requires verified, authentic profile photos. By uploading content to the app, you:

- Confirm that you own or have the right to use all photos and content you submit

- Grant Simit Studios a limited, non-exclusive licence to display your content within the app solely for the purpose of operating the service

- Acknowledge that photos are used for identity verification and profile display

- Accept that we may remove content that violates these Terms


You retain ownership of your content. We do not sell your photos or use them for any purpose beyond operating HeyU.


SAFETY

We take the safety of our users seriously. Please also take personal responsibility for your own safety:

- Arrange first meetings in public, well-lit locations

- Inform a friend or family member of your plans

- Never share financial information with someone you have just met

- Trust your instincts and report any concerning behaviour immediately

- Use the in-app reporting feature for any safety concerns


We investigate all safety reports promptly.


SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

Some features of HeyU require a paid subscription.

- Subscription fees are clearly displayed before purchase

- Payments are processed through Google Play Store billing

- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date

- To cancel, manage your subscription through your Google Play account settings

- Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy


We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable advance notice.


INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The HeyU application — including its design, features, codebase, and branding — is the property of Simit Studios and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.


You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without our prior written permission. HeyU and associated trademarks are the exclusive property of Simit Studios.


DISCLAIMERS

HeyU is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

- The compatibility or suitability of any user you may encounter

- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service

- The accuracy of information provided by other users

- The outcome of any in-person meeting arranged through the app


Meeting anyone in person is at your own discretion and risk. Always take appropriate safety precautions.


LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Simit Studios shall not be liable for:

- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

- Loss arising from interactions or in-person meetings with other users

- Service interruptions, data loss, or technical failures

- Content posted or actions taken by other users


Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the relevant claim.


ACCOUNT TERMINATION

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or to HeyU.


You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.


CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Where changes are significant, we will notify you via the app or by email. Your continued use of HeyU following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.


The current version of these Terms is always available within the app settings.

- Help prevent fake or fraudulent profiles


Face detection runs on-device. We do not store facial recognition data or biometric identifiers. Your camera is never accessed in the background or without your explicit action.


LOCATION DATA

We use your device location to:

- Show you potential matches in your area

- Display approximate distances to other users

- Improve location-based matching


Location is only used while the app is in use. We do not track your movements in the background or store a detailed history of your locations. You can withdraw location permission at any time through your device settings, though this will limit matching functionality.

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you push notifications, including:

- New messages from your connections

- Account and safety updates


You can manage or disable notifications at any time through the app settings or your device notification settings.
